PhotoAny Documentation and Policies

This page explains what PhotoAny is, how to use it, how pricing works, and how we handle privacy and service boundaries.

PhotoAny overview

PhotoAny is a Windows desktop tool for floating reference images. It is designed for drawing, modeling, design, tracing, and organizing visual materials.

You can pin reference images anywhere on screen and keep them beside your canvas. This reduces repeated switching between folders, browsers, and creative software.

PhotoAny has Standard and Pro editions. Standard is suitable for everyday reference viewing. Pro is better for tracing support, managing many references, and importing accessible images from web pages.

How to use

Add reference images from local files, screenshots, the clipboard, or image links. Added images appear as floating desktop windows.

You can move, resize, rotate, flip, and adjust the transparency of each reference. Workspaces can be saved separately so references switch with the project you are working on.

Pro includes tracing assist. When enabled, references can sit above the canvas with translucency and mouse pass-through so the software below remains usable.

Pro also includes web image selection. Open a web page in the built-in browser, select accessible images from the page, and import them into the current workspace.

Pricing

Standard is free forever. It includes local image import, screenshot capture, browser import, floating images, and workspace management.

Pro is a one-time purchase. It includes all Standard features plus tracing assist, one-click image arrangement, one-click image collapse, and web image selection.

After purchasing Pro, keep your license key safe. It is used to activate Pro features and bind devices within the license limit.

PhotoAny Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 31, 2026

Updated date: May 31, 2026

PhotoAny is a desktop reference image tool provided by Beijing Space Software Studio. We care about your privacy and data security. This policy explains how we may collect, use, store, and protect information when you visit the PhotoAny website, download PhotoAny, or use the desktop software.

If you do not agree with this policy, please stop using the PhotoAny website and software services.

1. Information we collect

PhotoAny is primarily local-first. Images, screenshots, clipboard images, workspace data, and local settings are stored on your device by default. We do not actively upload your reference image content.

We may collect or process necessary information in the following situations.

1.1 Website access information

When you visit the PhotoAny website, the server may automatically record IP address, access time, browser type, operating system type, visited pages, referrer pages, download requests, and basic error logs.

This information is used for website security, download statistics, troubleshooting, and service reliability.

1.2 Software download and update checks

When you download PhotoAny or the software checks for updates, we may process the current app version, operating system type, request time, IP address, update result, and download record.

This helps us determine update availability, keep downloads stable, and troubleshoot release issues.

1.3 Activation and license validation

When you activate Pro or validate a license, we may process the license key, license status, device identifier, app version, operating system type, activation time, validation time, deactivation time, IP address, and device limit records.

This information is used only for Pro activation, device limit checks, license validation, abnormal activation troubleshooting, and support.

We do not collect sensitive payment information such as bank card numbers or payment passwords. If you purchase through a third-party platform, payment is handled by that platform. We may receive only the information needed for order status, license delivery, and support verification.

1.4 Local images and workspace data

PhotoAny can import images from files, screenshots, the clipboard, and web pages. Imported image files or caches, workspace names, image positions, sizes, transparency, rotation, flip state, hidden state, language, theme, shortcuts, local logs, and diagnostic information are stored on your local device by default.

Unless you actively export, upload, or send this data to us, or a future version clearly provides cloud sync with your consent, we do not actively read or upload these local images or workspace contents.

1.5 Web image selection

The web image selection feature helps you view and choose images from a specified web page. You must actively enter the page URL to use it.

PhotoAny requests the page content based on the URL you enter and attempts to identify images. The target website may record access information such as IP address, access time, browser, or client request details.

Images, links, scripts, and access restrictions on the target website are controlled by that website. You should follow its terms of service, copyright rules, robots rules, anti-scraping requirements, and other access requirements.

Do not use this feature to scrape, download, distribute, or commercially use image content you do not have permission to use.

Unless release notes clearly say otherwise, web image selection is only used to assist image selection on your device. We do not actively upload selected web images to PhotoAny servers.

1.6 Logs and diagnostics

PhotoAny may generate local runtime logs to help with troubleshooting. Logs may include startup and shutdown records, feature call records, error stacks, version information, license validation results, and update check status.

Logs are stored locally by default. We review them only if you export a diagnostic package and send it to us. Please check whether logs contain information you do not want to provide before sending them.

2. How we use information

We use collected information to provide downloads, installation, updates, and license validation; determine Pro activation status; maintain website and software security and stability; troubleshoot crashes, exceptions, download failures, and license failures; improve product features and user experience; handle support, after-sales requests, and disputes; and meet legal security management obligations.

We do not use your local reference image content to train AI models, serve ads, or for unrelated commercial purposes.

3. Storage and protection

We use reasonable technical and management measures to protect relevant information, including limiting access to license data and service logs, applying necessary security configuration to servers, APIs, and databases, minimizing unnecessary collection, maintaining download, activation, and update interfaces, and reducing long-term log retention after troubleshooting.

No internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed absolutely secure. We make reasonable efforts to protect your information, but cannot promise that all security risks can be avoided.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information.

Where necessary, we may share or disclose limited information with third-party service providers related to payment, orders, license delivery, hosting, downloads, email, or storage; provide information in response to valid legal or government requests; make necessary disclosures to protect PhotoAny, users, or the public; or transfer necessary data during a merger, split, asset transfer, or business adjustment while requiring the recipient to continue appropriate protections.

5. Third-party services

The PhotoAny website or software may use third-party services for payment or orders, website hosting, file download or distribution, email, analytics, error collection, or diagnostics.

The exact third-party service list may change with operations. Contact us through the method in this policy if you need the current list.

Third-party services may have their own privacy policies and data processing rules. Please review them before using related services.

7. Your rights

Within the scope allowed by applicable law, you may request access, correction, supplementation, or deletion of personal information; withdraw consent for non-essential processing such as marketing; deactivate devices linked to a license key; request explanations or complaint handling; and exercise other rights provided by law.

You can contact us at support@photoany.net. The official website is https://www.photoany.net.

To protect information security, we may need to verify your identity or license ownership before processing related requests.

8. Minors

PhotoAny is intended for users who can independently use desktop software. If you are a minor, please use this product with consent and guidance from a guardian.

We do not actively collect personal information from minors. If a guardian finds that a minor has provided personal information to us, please contact us through the method in this policy.

9. Policy updates

We may update this policy based on product changes, legal requirements, or operations. Updated versions will be posted on the official website with an effective date.

If there are material changes, we may notify you through website notices, software prompts, or other reasonable methods.
